Working with
Russell Kapper is the best thing I have ever done for my health!
Following
a serious back injury in July 2001 and 18 months of physio which
did little to correct the problem, I began to work with Russell
to improve my general fitness and strength and to lose the excess
weight I had carried for most of my life.
Following
Russell’s initial assessment of my state of health, we developed
an eating and exercise plan that I am still following with ease
three years later.
In
ten months I lost 30 kilograms in weight. My body fat percentage
dropped from a high of 44% to a more acceptable 31%. I am still
working to improve this.
I
am fitter and have more flexibility than I have had since I was
20. My core strength is improving and the aches and pains I was
suffering from have eased. My posture is improving, and I thoroughly
enjoy working with Russell every week.
As
a competitive ballroom dancer, addressing these fitness and weight
issues were important if I was to be competitive at a high level.
You can see the difference a year made from the photos below.

"Take
this as a glowing testimonial. Russell Kapper is an expert in
the correction of posture, in control of bodyweight and in the
development of strength to achieve peak athletic performance.
Russell
showed me how important posture correction and core trunk strength
are to avoid training injury. By using a smart combination of
stretches, fitball exercises and light weights, his training restores
joint mobility and reactivates unused postural muscles. This initial
program serves as a
solid foundation for clients who are then able to build limb strength.
The
modern strength development techniques which Russell teaches focus
on improving functional and dynamic movements which are important
in daily living and performance sports. Using the best Paul Chek
strategies, he shows clients how to power groups of muscles ,
rather than training a series of isolated large muscles.
The
results achieved are greater than the benefits you might expect
from a series of individual exercises. This is because of the
great variety of techniques which Russell prescribes to achieve
defined goals, for example upright posture, core strength, leg
power, agility etc.
The
science of Physical Training has moved a long way in the past
10 years and Russell is using cutting edge, effective strategies
to help his clients. More than this, he practices the art of Personal
Training with energy, enthusiasm and great good humour.
The
most successful clients have brought a little motivation and a
desire for change. Do you believe it is possible to change yourself
for the better? Here is an opportunity to learn how from a master
in the field."

In recent times, I had become overweight and unfit due to a combination
of heavy work commitments, poor diet and little exercise.
I found that I did not have the time or the motivation to join
a gym so I decided to try having regular "appointments"
with a personal trainer.
Russell Kapper has been my personal trainer for the last three
months, however within that short time period, I have formed the
opinion that Russell is an excellent personal trainer.
It is apparent that Russell enjoys what he does and this comes
across in his appointments. I have found Russell to be very knowledgeable
in all aspects of health and fitness. He has gone to great lengths
to make me more enthusiastic about my personal fitness and has
prepared a specific program for me to follow.
Notwithstanding the short time that I have been working with Russell,
I feel much healthier and have lost 5 kgs.
Russell's energy and attitude, his extensive knowledge of the
human body and his ability to understand his client's needs make
him a very good personal trainer.

I have been a member of a local gym for the past five years and
have been keen about sport since primary school. When I first
started at the gym, my body shape changed dramatically, however
the past 12 -18 months have seen no change even though I visit
the gym 4 to 5 times a week. In fact I was starting to put on
weight again and become very unmotivated with my training.
I
decided that I needed to see someone about changing my body shape
and just a general refresher about what I wanted to achieve out
of my gym work. Russell Kapper gave me the motivation and encouragement
to push myself a little harder to achieve the desired results.
I found his exercises to be really exciting and fun and easy to
do both at the gym and at home rather than restricting myself
to one place. He has a 'can-do' attitude that helps you push yourself
to achieve any exercise he gives you.
After
completing five 1 hour personal training sessions with Russell
along with my usual weight training program which included a lot
of the new exercises, I noticed a great change in my body shape
and muscle tone. I have lost about three kilograms in a short
amount of time without changing my diet greatly and by changing
the actual exercises I was doing. I have not increased the amount
of time I spend at the gym, just use my time more efficiently
with more concentration on the areas of my body I wanted to change.
I
have been getting a huge amount of compliments from friends and
people at the gym saying that they have noticed a huge change
in the way I look. I can thoroughly recommend Russell for any
goal you want to achieve whether it would be weight loss or just
an increase in fitness levels. I have never felt so good about
myself and I owe it all to Russell's knowledge and enthusiasm,
and he is always the first one to say I have done a great job.

I recently completed 10 x 1 hour personal training sessions with
Russell Kapper. I have always been a classic "one day"
fitness person. One day I will get fit, one day I will lose weight.
So one day I hired Russell.
During
the time I worked with Russell I lost 4 kilos, my flexibility
improved, I began to tone up and I have finally begun to fit into
those clothes sitting in my wardrobe that I could never throw
out because I would one day fit into them. While these things
have been great most importantly Russell taught me the correct
way to use the equipment at the gym and how to continue improving
my fitness once the sessions with him were finished.
Russell
always managed to make the sessions enjoyable (just ask him to
sing!!!) and continually reinforced that he could show me and
assist me to improve my fitness but in the end it is up to me
to make the commitment. Russell will not provide you with a miracle
but he will show you how to get the most out of your fitness and
how to reach the goals you have set for yourself.

I
started a program with Russell Kapper and during my initial assessment
he asked if I had any problems. I told him of a femoral nerve
that had been giving me considerable problems.
I
had had physiotherapy which eased the pain a little. I also tried
medical acupuncture which completely eased the pain - but only
for one day!
Russell
gave me a simple exercise and in a few weeks the pain had gone
and as long as I maintain the exercise it does not recur. He also
gave me a series of exercises that greatly improved my general
posture. In short, I feel much better after following his advice.

After the birth of my two children I experienced a moderate
weight gain. The removal of half a thyroid gland around
this time resulted in an abundant weight gain. I have always
eaten healthy foods, avoiding junk food and takeaways.
I
tried to lose the excess weight by walking 5 km each day
during my lunch break at work, with no success.
I
joined the local gym on 18.3.1998 and although I worked
hard approximately 4 times a week I was still unable to
lose more than a couple of kilos over eighteen months.
Visits
to an endocrinologist confirmed I had no hormone imbalance
which could impede my weight loss.

A
visit to a dietician keeping a three-week food diary indicated
there were no obvious reasons why I was unable to lose weight.
I
was finally successful in losing 19 kilos in 20 weeks thanks
to Russell Kapper's combination of diet modification and
an improved exercise program.
The
main modifications to my diet were the reduction in fruit
consumption to one piece per day, an increase in vegetable
consumption, a reduction in carbohydrates, an increase in
proteins and (sadly) a decrease in wine consumption.
Russell
Kapper devised a much more balanced exercise program. Results
were effective almost immediately. I can thoroughly recommend
Russell if you are serious about weight loss and body toning.

To
whom it may concern
Russell
Kapper has been involved in the fitness industry for many years
and has shown by his participation in numerous courses a sound
theoretical base of scientific theory and methodology of exercise
and program complimentation.
Russell
has had a very extensive practical background in all areas of
resistance and gymnasium work.
He
demonstrates weight exercises with knowledge and depth of understanding,
not only in execution but also application of these movements
and how they are best suited to the individual. Russell has excelled
in all fitness courses he has undertaken and therefore I highly
recommend him for any similar position within the industry.

To
whom it may concern
I
am pleased to offer a letter of strong support for Russell J.Kapper
as a Personal Fitness Trainer or related profession. I have known
Russell for one year. He was a student in the first Personal Fitness
Trainer Certification Course organised by the University Of Tasmania
and supervised by myself.
Russell
is a bright, articulate and extremely driven individual. He has
displayed an exceptional maturity by continuing his involvement
within the fitness industry and by continuation of his professional
development in the field which combines aspects of human physiology,
anatomy, nutrition, program design and behavioural psychology.
In
summary, I feel that Russell is a talented and mature individual.
I am extremely confident that he will be successful as a Personal
Fitness Trainer and an excellent strength and conditioning specialist.
